Encounter with a Pseudo celebrity

Before I go on about my brief chat with this moron actor, its good to give you a background as to why I approached him in the first place.

Yesterday, I was sitting in tv lounge with family and was surfing channels when I happened to watch this play on ARY Digital named 'Roag' ... the following scenes I watched in that particular episode were discomforting to watch with the family:

>In one scene, a working mother leaves her 7-8 yrs old kid with the chowkidar of the building as she had to run some errands in the hospital. Chowkidar's eyes watches the kid with vicious eyes and expression. THIS scene clearly showed his evil pedophiliac intentions...yet to be revealed and shown in maybe later episodes of the play (In God knows what manner)

>In another scene...a mohallay-ka-ladka ditched by the girl next door is accompanied by his friends who want to give him some good time with pot and porn when they spot the 8 year old sister of the girl who ditched the boy. They say mean things about the little girl and grabbing her wrist...take her to one of the friends' shop. This was the second discomforting scene. From the promo of the play...its pretty clear that the poor kid gets raped and faces the post-rape trauma till her youth.

The play points out at how the changing world is posing insecurities and challenges in today's world ... how the frustration of individuals ruin and affect adversely the lives of many. However, I'm surprised at the channel's decision to show a play dealing with a sensitive issue like Child Abuse at Prime Time. Even in an open society like US of A, they show such content in the post-prime time slot.

Anyways, very few would happen to read this post...half of them already wondering why the heck im sermonizing about a single bechara play when so much non-sense is already playing around us...lemme proceed with the pseudo-celebrity encounter:

Today morning, I was at a friend's place using FB on his laptop, when one of the leading cast members of the above mentioned play came online and I could not resist myself discussing my discomfort about the play with this guy and its timing and in response of my concern, he first told me that and this weird response was followed by a weirder request from him to LIKE this link which happened to be his FB fanpage.

As pissed off as any normal thinking person could be at this harkat of his, I tried to ignore his request. But as dheet as he was, he asked me again if i have clicked the LIKE button on his fanpage. Koi mujhse pochhe how much I hated FB for not having DISLIKE button at that time :(

It didn't end there! Since I was pissed off at his cold and cheap response to such a sensitive issue, I made an excuse and told him I was unable to follow him. This prick actually started guiding me through the other options to LIKE his fanpage.

This surely showed to me one more time how mean these non-cerebral celebrities can become in their non-sense quest of having a huge fan-base that they can boast of in front of their equally non-cerebral fellas :-/

  1. I don't watch paki dramas...i gave up long ago! Loved the ones like Tanhaiyaan and hawain n Aashiyana...but recently..it's all been to much glitz n glamor!

But i'm glad these dramas are coming out cuz they push ppl to think and probably educate the new generation about sex...otherwise many fall prey to evil intentions!

Coming to the 'celeb', whatevr...a lil thing has gone to their head and they think they're Oscar material...n yes..facebook SHOULD have a dislike button!

  2. Thanks for actually reading it...sets you apart from the bandar-mela at FB where guys act like Meera...i.e. having an opinion on something they haven't even read a single word of :-/

I guess the lack of quality content in our plays follows a worldwide trend where no contemporary work seems to be at par with the works of legendary Ray or Bergman. BTW, I would like to add Dhoop Kinaray (my personal fav.) and Unkahi in that list of classics :)

I do agree that such plays, though hard-hitting, send a caution message out to careless parents who send their kids alone to either play in unsafe streets or buy something from a nearby shop :(

DISLIKE button is being offered by other non-FB sites/apps for FB but I wonder if others can see that button on my profile
